Thomas Monroe Tullis (1871-1921) was the oldest child of James Monroe and Mary Elizabeth who lived to adulthood. He married Hattie Snow, daughter of Mary Jane Cloud and Zack A. Thomas Monroe Tullis worked for many years for the railroad, laying tracks. This photo from 1916 was taken in Blessing, Texas, and is identified as “Section 21, Tom Tullis Foreman”. (The town of Blessing was so-named because they considered the coming of the railroad a blessing.) Tullis is in the front of this photo, near the center, wearing light-colored clothes with his jacket buttoned near the top. (Full-sized image)

This family reunion photo was probably taken between 1907 and 1912, based on the fact that the American flag shown appears to have 46 stars. Thomas and Hattie are on the far right, possibly with their child Thomas Herman Tullis (b. 1907). The matriarch in the center of the photo has been identified as Mary Jane (Cloud) Snow, Hattie’s mother. Tom and Hattie’s older children, Louise, Winnie, and Bunnie, are probably among the group of children. None of the others have been identified. (Full-sized image.)
