George and Rebecca and their family appear on the 1860 census in Tipton, Cedar Co, IA. Other researchers have indicated that Rebecca’s maiden name was Royer, a daughter of Daniel Royer and Catherine Stoner. George W. Smith was born about 1801 in either Maryland or Pennsylvania. Rebecca was born in 1805 in Pennsylvania. Their family also appears on the 1850 census in Blair Co, PA.
